Andover and Winchester affiliated members should seriously consider further
supporting the REA by joining their local Branch. The benefit of joining provides an
opportunity to stay in touch with the corps activities as well as enjoying the
friendship and support of our members.
We are a small but active Branch that in common with other Branches keen to
embrace new members particularly those who are still serving or have more recently
completed their service. We visit locations of interest and often invite speakers both
military and civilian to our meetings; these meetings are often preceded by a light
supper.
With the exception of August and December monthly meetings are held on the third
Monday in the Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess 26 Engineer Regiment at Perham Down.
Our main social function of the year is a Christmas Draw and Dinner which this year is to be held in the White Hart Hotel in Andover.
Although a Royal Engineer Branch we also welcome affiliated members from other regiments and services who do not have an association Branch locally, they too are warmly welcomed into the “Sapper Family”.
To become an active member of our Branch you will be expected to pay an annual
subscription which is to meet our running costs, this sum is agreed at the Annual
General Meeting and is generally in the region of £10.00. Our Honorary Secretary is Mr David Davidson, should you wish any
further information please don’t hesitate to contact him on the branch email address.
In times of need and whether a Branch member or not those affiliated will receive the
full support of this Branch.
Your attention is also drawn to the Defence Discount Service this organisation
provides a privilege card to serving and ex-service members of the armed forces.
Many internet and high street businesses offer discounts of up to 20% on purchases,
