COVID-19 News....

Chairman's Message....

Dear Fellow Members, Friends and Families,

This continues to be a very difficult time for each and every one of us which is being made worse by the actions of some very foolish or very selfish people. I hope you are all well and getting on with life as best you can.  Please remember that myself and the committee stand ready to reach out to anyone who needs help or reassurance.

A Branch Meeting was held in late September, via Zoom, the minutes of which have have been sent out by the Secretary.  The most important decision made was to cancel the Branch Xmas Dinner with a view to rescheduling it for sometime around Easter with the date to be confined in due course.

Best wishes to you and look after yourselves and your loved ones.

Phil

Dear All Members,

A gentle reminder that the majority of the Annual Branch Subscriptions are now overdue, apologies if you have already paid. The following subscriptions are:

Subs for Life Members& Associate Members        £10:00

Friends of the Branch                                             £5:00

Due to the current climate it would be best suited to process a BACS (bank transfer) payment if you are able to do so. Otherwise please write a cheque and post it to myself by the end of the month.

Welfare News - Birthdays / Social / family of members / Departed Friends....
The welfare news will be echoed from the Welfare member at the monthly meetings but also updated as and when information arises.

It would appear that we, the members, are a healthier and more resilient bunch than we might have thought. I have emailed or 'phoned most people and am getting replies to the effect that all is well. Long may this continue.

With my SSAFA hat on I have been asked by REA HQ to confirm the personal circumstances of two RE widows in our area who receive Christmas grants each year. How this works is that REA pay the grants to SSAFA, who then arrange for the grant to be passed to the individuals. This is a very generous gesture by the REA.

For those of you who receive the Sapper magazine, the entry in the Memorial Page of the next issue should contain details of Len Chandler, who passed away in February of this year.

Stay Safe everyone.
